Swim Sites:
Total Immersion - a great site for new to advanced adult swimmers and triathletes. Learn some great technique and get great support for your adventures in swimming. Videos, DVD's and more.
GoSwim - a site for great drills, DVD's, online videos and more, featuring world class swimmers.
Curl-Burke Swim Club - USA Swim Team in the DC metro area. An amazing group of swimmers and coaches who put together a nationally known team. They've produced some amazing swimmers and people. See what they are up to! Plus I do a little coaching for them myself. :)
US Masters Swimming - If you swam on a USA team as a kid, if you've starting swimming as an adult, if you are into ironman or triathlon evens, this could be your new home. Find a local team and start enjoying working on your swimming with others. You'll find a place and people who share similar goals. Good stuff.
Sport Fair - A fantastic swim store located in Arlington, VA. Of course I am biased but I am also correct. They supply both teams and individuals. You'll see them at local Potomac Valley Swim events for the USA swim teams. They have a great staff, a terrific store and they have some of my art, too!
Chris Green Lake Swim - a great cable swim in Virginia. Go and enjoy a one or two mile!
Music Sites:
The Washington Conservatory of Music - A community music school serving all ages. Terrific teachers! (A personal plug for the cello faculty of course, of which I am a part!) Two locations. Recital opportunities as well as chamber music offerings and studio classes. Plus a great community concert series. Check them out!
American Federation of Musicians - the union for working musicians. Learn about how it works and how it benefits you and fellow musicians. I joined when I was fifteen back in, um, er...high school.
Apprentice Music - An educational resource for string players run by a good friend. Cello-centric in a good way! Download student pieces for the kids to hear and emulate or buy CD's. Plus inventive ways to work on tuning.
Good and Fun Places:
Free Kibble - Click and help feed. It's that simple! Help cats and dogs in need and learn some fun facts along the way. You can donate every day just by visiting.
Just Give - Find out about good places to donate and take care of your charitable donations all in one place. There is so much work to be done. Choose as suits you best. Make a difference!
GoDaddy - It's not like they need the advertising, but this is who hosts my site. who designed it (with my input of course!) and where I register my domain. It's affordable and the people on the phone are nice and really helpful. That's worth it right there!
